Thai Food
I managed to hit up Thailand for some five weeks a while back. That is one place you need to get to as soon as you can. Cheap stuff, nice people, and the best food in the world, though I was craving Mexican food, pizza, and bread by the end of my trip. But it did seem that wherever we went the most amazing food would follow, even in our guest house (suk11, bangkok, recommended highly) and in nice restaurants, even on small islands with one dude and some charcoal.
Thai food is another one of those things that people don't understand. They just go to the restaurant and get whatever and then think they've had Thai food. This stuff can be one of the most exciting experiences of your life when done right, if you aren't shaking in your pants afterwards then something went wrong in the kitchen.
San Diego has some edible Thai food, thankfully, and some of it is quite good, well, it's ok. Here's what I find for you:
