Japanese
By Japanese food I basically am trying to talk about sushi, but I'm also happy with what I've discovered about Japanese food outside the sushi realm also (and outside of that fried stuff and teriyaki as well).
San Diego has an unfortunate lack of good sushi, and being by the sea, and on the Pacific, you'd think otherwise, but no, it's true. Everyone raves about Sushi Ota but really it's not that great. I'm depressed now.
I am thinking of this place in Los Angeles, in Beverly Hills, called "Sushi Sushi." You all need to drop what you are doing and go there and sit at the bar and get Omikase (chef's choice). You won't believe what you will eat is real, it's amazing stuff, and make sure to set a price limit because he'll keep going until you can't eat any more.
But, alas, oh San Diego, why do you do this to me?
