list of all restaurants reviewed on san diego food blog:

Argyle Steakhouse - Four Seasons Aviara - Find out what a $62 steak is like here at one of the finest hotels in the world. Not only is this low-key steakhouse anything but, but they've got fantastic food as well.

Cafe Athena 1 - I call this "1" because I've had food here before and liked it, but this time the food was worse than Taco Bell. Come on Cafe Athena, step it up please. Perhaps there will be a Cafe Athena 2 entry at some point, so I leave it at that.

El Callejon (Encinitas) - A good place to get tacos of certain varieties and a good place to hang out and drink margaritas. This has been a staple of ours for some time, read about the bad dishes I've had here and the good, then go and decide for yourself.

India Princess Crap-fest: Got takeout from this place once. Maybe it was a bad night but I'm never going back there or anywhere near it ever again in my life. Read why here.

La Fonda - This restaurant is in Baja Mexico between Rosarito and Ensenada.  I didn't find anything too exciting here but the views and the drinks were great.  Maybe a good pit stop on the way to Ensenada taco stands.

Luigi’s:  Like above, reminding me of my youth, upstate New York, upstate New Jersey, state New York, East Coast.  Eat at Pizzeria Luigi and you won’t be disappointed.  Read my cleverly worded (and very abstract) review of it here.

Nessy's Burgers - A shack at the intersection of two major highways in North SD has some of the best burgers I've ever had. Find out why they are always packed in my review.

Parkhouse Eatery - Maybe their other junk is good but the burgers and sandwich was a joke, a huge ripoff on a 4 inch slab of unleavened bread, with warm beer too, wtf, wtf, wtf.

Pokez - Some delicious Mexican food can be found at this joint with a service problem. Who cares because they also serve beer and every mammoth sized plate costs around $5 only.

Punjabi Tandoor - This is the best Indian food I've had in San Diego. You need to get here immediately and eat whatever you can before they sell out and move to a bigger location and have non-family members making the food turn bad (not that they are, but you know if it's too good that will happen).

San Diego Chicken Pie Shop - Unironically Good. The SD pie shop has been serving up homemade chicken pot pies for years. You can take a batch to go and bake them at home and pretend like you made them from scratch too, if you are so inclined.

Super Cocina - One of San Diego's best dining spots for comfort lowbrow Mexican stews and hearty soups and meats. You don't need a fancy silver shirt or hair gel but you do need a good appetite and will leave with a smile.

UCSD Hillcrest Hospital Cafeteria - Maybe not the place to take the inlaws (then again maybe it's the perfect place) but they do a mean burger, but only if you go up to the grill and ask the griller, avoid the prepackaged ones under the lamp, and the drug addict in a hospital gown asking you if you have a quarter for some nachos.

Western Steakburger - A good fresh and charbroiled burger joint with ribs and gyros in the heart of North Park.
